- Sadr-Ijahan
- The same as sadr-us sudur, it was the highest office in the Delhi sultanate to which an Islamic theologian could normally aspire. Ordinarily, the office of chief qazi was combined with that of sadr-i jahan and the two were held by the same person. The distribu-tion of state patronage to the Islamic elite as well as the maintenance of mosques, khanqahs, and so forth was the jurisdiction of the sadr-i jahan.
